What is the cause of rapid damage of wire drawing die?

The factors of the processing quality of the drawing die itself lead to rapid wear of the die:

1). The dies pass design is unreasonable, the opening of the entrance and lubrication area is too small, and the bearing area is too long, which causes the drawing is not smooth during drawing, and the die wear is accelerated or even broken.

2). the drawing joint of the wire and the center line of the die hole are asymmetrical, resulting in uneven stress on the wire and the wire drawing die, and the impact caused by mechanical vibration will also produce greater stress on the wire and the wire drawing die, both of which will accelerate the wear of the die.

3). the uneven hardness of steel wire caused by uneven annealing is easy to cause fatigue loss of steel wire in polycrystalline wire drawing die, resulting in ring groove accelerated die hole wear.

4). The surface of the wire is rough, and the surface is accompanied by oxide, sand or other impurities, which will make the drawing die wear too fast. When the wire passes through the die hole, the hard and brittle oxide layer and other adhesive impurities act like abrades, causing the drawing die hole to wear rapidly and wear the surface of the wire.

5). If the lubrication is poor, the surface temperature of the die hole will rise rapidly during the wire drawing process, and the die will fall off, resulting in die damage. When the lubricant is unclean, especially containing metal debris that falls off when pulled out, it is easy to scratch the surface of the die hole and the surface of the wire.
