The Maintenance And Usage Methods Of Drawing Dies Mainly Include The Following Aspects

The maintenance and usage methods of drawing dies mainly include the following aspects

Regular cleaning: During use, wire drawing dies will accumulate dirt and oil stains. If these contaminants are not cleaned in time, they will affect the service life and performance of the dies. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly wipe the surface of the dies clean with solvents such as alcohol or gasoline.

Reasonable selection of die materials: Select drawing die materials reasonably based on the physical and mechanical properties of the materials and the size of the materials.

Regularly inspect the wire drawing machine: Regularly check the operating status of the wire drawing machine to ensure that all components such as the wire drawing drum and the wire guiding wheels are smooth and flexible, and strictly control the runout tolerance. If wear grooves are found on the drum or guiding wheels, maintenance should be carried out promptly.

Proper cleaning of wire materials: Before drawing, the surface of the wire material should be properly cleaned; otherwise, it will easily reduce the service life of the die and also easily cause scratches on the wire, affecting the surface quality.

Select the correct lubricant: High-quality lubricants such as drawing powder should be chosen to increase the service life of the drawing die. At the same time, the lubrication indicators should be frequently checked, and copper powder and impurities in the lubricating oil should be removed to ensure that the lubrication system does not contaminate the equipment holes.

Lubrication and protection: Ensure proper cooling and lubrication for carbide dies, especially high-speed wire drawing dies, to enhance the service life of the wire drawing dies.

Reasonable selection of compression ratio: The appropriate compression ratio should be chosen based on the size and performance of the drawn wire. If the compression ratio is too small, it will lead to excessively high production costs; if it is too large, it will reduce the service life of the die and may even cause die explosion.

Control the surface condition of metal materials: If metal particles are found adhering to the inner hole of the die during the drawing process, the machine should be stopped immediately for handling. Remove the adhering metal particles and polish the inner hole of the die. Each time it is used, the adhering metal particles in the inner hole must be carefully cleaned.

Regularly inspect the molds: Regularly check the molds to promptly detect metal particles adhering to the inner holes.

Properly store the dies: Wire drawing dies that are not in use temporarily should be coated with anti-rust oil for protection.
